LARSON, OLE B., blacksmithing and carriage and wagon repairing, Kasson, is a native
of Bergen,
Norway, and was born Nov. 25, 1843. He was reared on a farm and educated in the
district schools. He
responded to the call of his country by enlisting in 1862 in Company B, Tenth
Minnesota Infantry, and
served three years, being mustered out at Ft. Snelling in 1865. In 1869 our subject
was united in
marriage to Ingaborg, daughter of Thomas and Beret Evjen, and to this union seven
children have been
born, of whom four survive as follows: Bert T., Henry C., Bertena H., and Thomas L.
The dead are Ralph,
Rudolph and Cora R. Mr. Larson is a Republican. The family are members of the Hauges
Church. Mr. Larson is one of the oldest pioneer settlers of the county. He resided
from 1843 to 1849 in
his native land, when the family came to America, locating at Madison, Wis. After
two years they
removed to Iowa and in 1854, to this county, from 1865 to 1869 finished his trade in
Rochester, when
he settled in Kasson and opened up his present business. He is a highly respected
citizen. [page 111]
