C. W. PETERS was born in Bath County, Ky., February 15, 1852, and is a son of
Marcus A. and Miranda A. (Young) Peters. Marcus A. Peters was born in
Woodford County, Ky., March 5, 1805. In his younger days he was engaged in
merchandising, but of late he has been engaged in agricultural pursuits; he
is a son of Lewis Peters. Mrs. Miranda A. Peters, a native of Bath County,
Ky., was born in 1822, and is a daughter of Thomas Young, who was born in
Virginia. C.W. Peters was raised on his father's farm, and obtained a good
common-school education; at the age of twenty-one he went to Owingsville,
Ky., where he clerked in a drug store for several years. In 1882 he opened
a drug store in Sharpsburg, where he has since resided; he carries a stock
of everything usually kept in a first-class drug store, as well as a line of
wall-paper, school-books, stationery, tobacco and cigars. November 27,
1883, he married Miss Rosa Alexander, a daughter of Hon. Joseph M. and
Bettie (Metcalf) Alexander. Mrs. Peters is a member of the Baptist Church.
Mr. Peters belongs to the Christian Church, and is a Democrat politically.
