I find in the history of Boone County a sketch of one Rogers, as
follows: Joseph Kirtley Rogers, A. B. A. M. LL.D. He was born in Fayette
County, Kentucky 11/14/1828. He was the son of William and Frances
Rogers. The family removed to Marion County, Mo. in 1830. Joseph K.
married Miss Jennie E. Robards; their children were: Senior S., A. Bowen,
Fanny, Jennie M., and R. Estill. Joseph K. died 8/24/1882 at Columbia,
Mo., and his family still resides there. John Rogers, Jr. was born
3/14/1792 in Culpeper County, Va. His father John Rogers, Sr. was born in
England and came to the U. S. before the Revolution. He afterward moved
to Harrison County, Ky. where he died in 1821, aged 73. His wife Nancy
Grigg Rogers was born in Stafford Co., Va. John Rogers, Jr. came to
Kentucky with his parents and in 1817 went to St. Louis Co., Mo. Before
coming to Missouri he married to Mary, the daughter of Edmund Montjoy, of
Bourbon Co., Ky. and by this marriage were born nine children, four sons
and five daughters, only one of whom, John Rogers, of Pike Co., Mo., is
now (1882) living. John R. Jr. lived in St. Louis County three years and
came to Columbia in 1821. He was still living in 1882.
