JAMES A. O'HARA. One of the most progressive and up-to-date business
institutions in Williamstown is the model drug establishment of James A.
O'Hara & Co., on Main Street opposite the post-office. Centrally
located, with a magnificent store-room, handsomely finished and
furnished and stocked from cellar to attic with the best line of drugs
that money can buy, it makes a showing worthy of a city of ten thousand
people. The presiding genius of this institution is James A. O'Hara,
the second son of Dr. R. H. O'Hara. Jim is a product of Williamstown,
and of the common and high schools of this city. He was born here
February 28th, 1871. He began business as a druggist as a partner with
his father just 15 years ago. He is a graduated pharmacist, and like
his father, who has been in the drug business for a lifetime, is said
to be one of the best druggists in the state. R. H. O'Hara and Jim's
baby are the company in this institution. On January 12th, 1898, Mr.
O'Hara was united in marriage to Miss Eugenia Hogan, daughter of the
late Hon. W. N. Hogan. To this union one child, Robert Newton, has
been born. Mr. O'Hara owns a nice residence, in which he resides, on
High Street. He has recently purchased for $5,500.00 the handsome
brick building in which he is doing business, and is well fixed in
every way to take care of the future. In politics he is a Democrat
and takes a very active interest in all political matters. C. O.
Porter, accommodating and courteous, is in his employ in the drug
store, and in his store-room is located the long distance telephone
