Souvenir Edition, The Williamstown Courier, Williamstown, Ky, May 30,
1901, reprinted September 19, 1981 by the Grant County KY Historical
Society.

WILLIAM A. VEST first saw the light of day in the good old county of
Boone, May 23, 1850. He is a son of John A. and Emily (Holder) Vest.
His father was a farmer, and he was reared on a farm, getting his
schooling in the country schools of Boone County. On the 10th of
October, 1888, he was married to Miss Hulda Points, daughter of Hon.
William Points, of Sherman. To this union one child, a winsome girl of
nine, has been born. William Vest was born a Democrat and has remained
true to the teachings of his youth. He never "scratches" a ticket and
never fails to vote his sentiments. He resides in the old Points
homestead, and owns one of the finest farms in Grant County. His
father-in-law, the Hon. William Points, makes his home with him. He is
a pillar of Mount Zion Baptist Church and an all around good citizen,
whom all are glad to know.
