the son of John H. and Elizabeth Geoghegan, who came from Virginia in early

Irish historian, Abbe McGeoghegan. Dr. G. was reared on a farm to manhood,

and has been one of the most successful in the county, and now owns a farm
of 200 acres of the most productive land in the county. For a number of
years, Mr. Geoghegan has been dealing in produce of all kinds, but more
especially hay, of which article he handles hundreds of tons yearly. Mr.
Geoghegan has been deputy county clerk for eight years, and examiner under
appointment of circuit court for ten years. Mr. Geoghegan was married,
October 1, 1863, to Miss Zoradia Withers, daughter of Gideon and Mary
