    Dr. James Polk Jones was born July 29, 1866, in Farmersville and came to Brady and located October 19, 1884.  At this time he was already a graduate of Kentucky School of Medicine, so he practiced medicine in Mcculloch and Menard counties.  He also owned and operated a drug store for a period of some 40 years.  He was married to Miss Katie Marsden in Brady, December 16, 1890, he and his bride being the first couple to be married in the "new Methodist Church."  Dr Jones is a member of the Masonic Lodge.
