Jack Locklear married Sarah Elizabeth Wolf (or Wulff). They were
citizens of Mcculloch County around the time of its 1876 organization,
or shortly thereafter.
Jack Locklear brought the first throughbred horses to McCulloch County
one a black stallion (our notes say black and sorrel) named Pat.
Jack had a brother, Aubrey (called "Dude") who came to McCulloch County
about the same time.
Jack Locklear and family, around 1900 to 1906, lived in the Guadalupe Mountains
of New Mexico and purchased horses from another former citizen of McCulloch,
George W. Banta.
The Locklears (and Bantas as well) again returned to McCulloch.
The children of Jack and Sarah Locklear were Andy, John, Sud, Travis, Ollie,
Clabe, Mose, Lon and Eunice.
