Hiram Samuel (Hi) Snearly, 87, prominent retired McCulloch County ranchman,
died September 11, in the Brady Hospital after a long illness.
A life-long ranchman and civic leader, Mr. Snearly served for 14 years as McCulloch County Commissioner of Precinct 1. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Brady. A Mason, he had received a 50-year membership pin.
Although partially to totally blind for the past 35 years, Mr. Snearly remained active in his ranching and business endeavors, to the admiration of all who knew him. His wife, the former Pink Galbreath, preceded him in death in October 1960.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Paul Johnson of Btady; a son Ernest W. Snearly of Rocksprings; two granddughters, Mrs. Crawford Mitchell of Rocksprings, and Mrs. George Adkins of San Antonio; and six great-grandchildren.
